For the first time, we decided this year to celebrate Saint Nicholas Day. Earlier in the day, Paulie read a story of Saint Nicholas to the rest of us, and, in the European tradition, we filled the kids' shoes with goodies of clementines, chocolate coins and candy canes. We decided to fill their actual shoes, since we didn't have any fabulous wooden shoes like these, so we wrapped the goodies in batiked cloth for some extra decoration (and preservation from the smelliness).
We celebrated St. Nicholas day with regular shoes as well....although I would love to have some beautiful wooden ones like you linked to.
