but how do you sharpen them?
These pencils were a gift to my kids from their babysitter who brought them back from her trip to Ecuador last summer. They were well-loved until the points dulled to the extent that they won't really write anymore. Paul's not much of a whittler (and that's a gross exaggeration), plus all we own are kitchen knives. Is seeking out a wood craftsmen our best bet?
Joy, I know I've seen some sort of pencil sharpening kit thing-y-majig in a Montessori catalog somewhere. I'm going on the hunt when I have a few minutes to see if I can find it.
ReplyDeleteI've wondered that, too. I've thought I'd buy some of them many times as I've seen them for sale, but always stop myself when I remember I don't know how to sharpen them.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see if anyone knows...
we use large pencil sharpeners on ours and it works fine. - the kind for big crayons and such.
ReplyDeleteNo idea. But they're gorgeous. I have pencil envy.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could sharpen them....they are too beautiful just as they are. What a fun gift.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...those are such pretty pencils. :) We have Lyra triangular shaped pencils that are large, and they work with a crayon sharpener.
ReplyDeleteThe good ol' fashion way...a sharp carving knife. ;~)
