Finn and I took a trip to the local farmer's market Friday for Strawberry Day. While we were there, he asked for a few berries to eat. I gave them to him and told him to only eat the berry, not the leaves. I looked down a few minutes later, and he had eaten everything I gave him, berries, leaves and all! What a little rabbit he is! We came home with a few gallons of strawberries for eating and making jam. Needless to say, there was a lot of berry eating going on at our house this weekend.
the kids enjoyed eating berries out on the deck...
I think we were the definition of locavores this weekend, eating our weight in strawberries.
Oh wow! Strawberry jam, it looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteOh YUM! I love going to the farmer market.
ReplyDeleteHomemade strawberry jam is delish! Isn't it fun to work in the kitchen with our children? One of my favorite things to do. :)
ReplyDeleteYummy, I just want to gobble it up! I think we will try to make strawberry jam this year. Just have to wait a little longer for the strawberries to ripen here in Ohio.

Yum! Ours don't start here until mid-June'ish. Can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteGrady and I picked a basket at Rudd today, but I wonder what yucky stuff they might have sprayed on them... we hope to hit the organic strawberry man at the Curb on Saturday. I love making jam, too!
ReplyDeleteThat jam looks delicious!

ReplyDeleteElizabeth looks quite thrilled to be helping you make jam. ;) I see that expression on my daughter's face quite often lately.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until local strawberries are available where I am! Yum!
