Aside from Paulie's 5k, I spent the majority of the weekend like the picture below. We dug up one of the front flower beds and planted a hydrangea (I love those things!) and some irises (thanks, Melissa!). Then we planted our smallish veggie garden with 3 varieties of squash, cucumbers, kale, basil...tomatoes and green peppers, yet to come.
I also spent a few minutes checking out the millions of blackberry blossoms that seem to have exploded overnight. Is is July yet? :)
We also had some amazing art finds this weekend. At the downtown gallery hop, we saw this seriously cute print by Bobbin (a local artist just commissioned by Anthropologie to do a line of note cards). I was completely enamored with these little balloon-toting birdies.
We also bought this gorgeous copper 2D sculpture for our bedroom. The local artist is moving and needed to unload some of his pieces which we were happy to accomodate.
Last, but not least, my comment was picked as the winner on Saturday's giveaway from Le Papier Studio on Soulemama's blog. I'm so excited! I've never won a blog giveaway, and Amanda always has the most amazing ones. :)
I hope everyone had a lovely spring weekend!
