Our local farmer's market hosted it's semiannual craft fair this morning. The first booth we found --a local etsian with so many fabulous wood toys. We initially looked for a few things to stash away for Christmas presents (yes, I start early), but the kids were having so much fun playing with the various little toys, that we bought them each a little item. I can't complain too much about them getting attached to locally-made, natural toys; they played with them all day.
After strolling the craft fair, we hit the farmer's stands. It seems like every week the variety of local produce is growing by leaps and bounds. It's wonderful! This week we found white peaches, basil, asparagus, cucumbers, zephyr squash and tomatoes. Of course, we had to sample some for lunch. My kids cleaned out half the peck of peaches we bought just at lunch!
This picture has nothing to do with the farmer's market, but how cute are they, scrubbed clean, playing Wildcraft on the deck, waiting for the fireflies to appear?
Ooh, that food looks SO fresh and delicious... and yes, they look so happy out there waiting for the fireflies! Isn't summer wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYummy!!! I just saw the first firefly a few nights ago, it landed on my bedroom screen. Haven't seen one since though. What a perfect evening!
ReplyDeleteBTW, fauna also carries a sigg full of water everywhere she goes! Our two ladies are quite similar I believe!
Lisa :)
I'm jealous of your farmers marketing. I need to get out there and get some fresh veggies!
ReplyDeleteThe toys look really fun and the peaches look delicious! The last picture is really lovely, very cute :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great farmer's market! Isn't it great to support other Etsy sellers?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous toys!! Yay for local (and wooden!)
ReplyDeleteOh, beautiful pictures, now I am HUNGRY!! : )
Sweet, sweet last picture of the kids! Beautiful family!
We love going to the farmers market here too! what a cute little car.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for our market to open next weekend--those peaches are just making my mouth water.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. I haven't been to the farmer's market yet this year but I hope to get there soon!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are adorable! I love that last shot of them on the deck. Your food photos always make me hungry. ;)
ReplyDeleteOur markets open soon. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLove all the delicious pictures... a bit too envious on "waiting for fireflies", however.
Fireflies are up there on the top ten Magic list... and something we don't have here.
sigh.
I wish we had fireflies in Idaho...I've never seen one but would love to someday.
ReplyDeleteAsparagus looks delish! :)
