An ice cream party was the culmination of Elizabeth's fiber arts camp yesterday. The girls set up all of their art projects for everyone to see what they worked on through the week.
A bracelet with a button charm
some polymer buttons and beads
a needlefelted flat piece
and stained glass candleholder
a crocheted blanket WIP
and the Pièce de résistance: yarn that they spun themselves from wool that they dyed with koolaid
Elizabeth's was the "colorful cupcake" colorway. :)
And in the middle of the celebrating, one of the girls found a cicada who had just finished shedding his skin. He was the hit of the party.
Elizabeth had a wonderful week at the fiber arts camp and is already asking to attend next year. I think that sounds like a good idea.
Her yarn looks delicious! What a sweet little camp! I have to ask out of curiosity, was it all or mostly girls there?
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, these are all just beautiful projects! I am in awe with all you did and how lovely everything turned out. Please have your mama post a photo of the blanket when you finish it ok? :)
ReplyDeletehow absolutely FANTASTIC, well done!
ReplyDeletethe yarn is really gorgeous, & i can't wait to see the finished blanket! (is it a pattern or "freestyle"?)

ReplyDeleteOooo, I really love this! It sounds like the fiber arts camp was a success. So many fabulous projects for the kids! I hope you continue to host the camps.
ReplyDeleteIf there was a fiber arts camp when I was a kid I so would have been there. I did go to lots of craft camps though! That yarn is beautiful!
