This evening I decided to mix things up a bit, always a stretch for me on a school night, and bring a simple dinner to the park near Paul's office so we could see the lovely spring flowers that bloom here every year.
Elizabeth, especially, loves checking out all the varieties of violets.
Finn tends to be more interested in the statues in the children's garden, which are awfully sweet.
The creek is always a popular attraction, even if it isn't as accessible as some of the creeks at the other parks we frequent.
Then there are the spring flowers...
dressed in their finest...
dancing the spring away.
They draw you in so that you can't resist feeling their beauty in attempt to absorb their vibrant colors.
And there's the wildlife.
We found several fuzzy caterpillars. Paulie became quite friendly with his.
Eventually, our time began to run short.
And the kids found a new home for their caterpillar friends.
We waved goodbye and promised to visit again soon.
On the crafting front, it's mostly more of the same. I completed the other mitten for Elizabeth's set which she was more excited about than I expected considering the fact that it's 80 degrees now.
Finn's other sock is complete as well. He, on the other hand, does not think he needs any more socks as he "already has lots of socks!" I'm sure we'll get some use out of them though, and I was very excited to finish knitting my first pair of socks!
Next up is this lovely skein of hand-dyed wool by Ester Bitran. Hopefully, I'll have more to share about it next week.
Lovely spring pictures! And your knitting projects are beautiful. Love those mittens and the itty-bitty socks are just too cute.
