Over my lunch hour today, I finally finished the Beach Blanket To Go from Soulemama's Handmade Home. I'm really pleased with the easy, yet cute, blanket this turned out to be. Of course, the minute it was finished, the kids wanted to put it to good use. Elizabeth's idea of eating a picnic dinner out on the blanket was vetoed because I'm not brave enough to let the first meal on the new blanket include marinara sauce so she settled for an after-dinner ice cream picnic.
I really like the extra splash of fun added by the rainbow bias tape. When I found this on etsy, I knew it was the perfect binding for this blanket.
Elizabeth insists that ice cream tastes much better in the front yard while relaxing on the new blanket.
Finn, well, he barely even noticed the blanket; he was all about the ice cream (or rather the coconut milk-based green tea "ice cream").
Oh no, it dripped!
Whew, got it anyway!
Now that the blanket has had it's inaugural celebration picnic, we're more than ready to take it to the beach. Maybe, just *maybe* this will keep the sand out of our snacks.
it's a blanket time of year apparently!! LOVE the fabrics i'm seeing...so neat! it will be cherished for years to come.
