Yarn Along

This week's Yarn Along is not the same ol' cape I've been knitting for Elizabeth. That project is just not calling my name recently so I've decided to take it's lead and just work on other things. I've planned to make Elizabeth a pair of socks for a while and in fact this pink sock yarn by Spud & Chloe has been sitting in my stash for almost a year. When I finished Finn's Clementine socks, I was struck with the thought that the Clementine yarn might make the perfect accent to Elizabeth's Sassafras yarn. The tip of the ribbing, the heel and the toes will be Clementine. A very bright sock for a girl that loves to shine with color.

Reading has been largely centered around the seasonal book basket. As the chilly and wet spring weather has returned this week, Finn is very interested in reading about what he's experiencing in the present.

On a recent trip to my favorite local yarn shop, Finn was a patient, even helpful, sweetheart, and as a treat, I allowed him to pick out a skein of yarn to make his fall hat. He picked a bright red bulky super-soft cotton by Punta Yarns. Now I just need a pattern! Do you have a favorite bulky hat pattern that you'd like to share? I can always rely on the ever-cute Pointy Elf Hat, but I thought I'd check to see if anyone else has a favorite first.
