Joining Ginny again this week for Yarn Along, I've not really had much time this week for either knitting or reading, what with 3 bushels of apples to contend with. I have been working on this Christmas present, for someone who shall not be named, in Stroll Sport yarn from Knit Picks. The color is Jack Rabbit Heather which is a lovely textured grey-brown that should be called "weathered deck table" since it truly is the exact color of our outdoor table that I like to take pictures on.
Although I haven't been reading much, I have still been flipping through Soulemama's Rhythm of Family and even trying out her Soule-sa recipe after finding myself with several pounds of heirloom tomatoes that were begging to be made into salsa. If you need a good salsa recipe, look no further. Minus the habanero, this one was delicious (if the fact that the entire vat of salsa disappeared in less than 2 days is any indication), and I will certainly be making it again.
I'll say it again... I wish I could knit! Those socks look great!
ReplyDeleteAnd who has time to read... more than a recipe or a blog post?!...
Wishing you time for those beautiful slow things...
Regards, art house mum.
Nice socks! A pair of mindless socks in rib pattern is almost always on my needles. So good to grab when I need to let my mind wander :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the Soule's book as well. I made the everyday oat bread. It was really good!
ReplyDeleteYour sock looks so nice and cozy....I also like the color...it will look nice with anything you wear.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you,

I am still in love with your yarn color choice :) Fall is around the corner, yay!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your socks! And they look great against the deck table! :) I keep meaning to check out the Soule's book. Too many books to read at the moment! And oh my! Just how much is a bushel of apples? We will be doing our apple picking in the next few weeks from our favorite u-pick farm. I love that Autumn is rapidly approaching!
ReplyDeleteThe color of your yarn against the table is beautiful and does seem to mimic it exactly! I haven't tried the Soule-sa recipe yet--my poor tomatoes all died this year. :(
ReplyDeleteThe color looks great. What are you making with the 3 bushels of apples? I have yet to find an apple orchard that allows us to pick. So disappointing. But I'm still searching!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right on the name change! Wonderful. Looks lovely, especially resting on the cover of the wonderful book I, too, am flipping through. Nice knitting.
ReplyDeleteyour sock is just lovely, weathered deck is perfect!
