This evening we held our annual advent spiral and holiday crafting time with our little festivals group. Having learned our lesson in the freezing wind last year, this year we planned a small tabletop spiral for the children to travel with their hands, placing their apples along the spiral path after receiving light from the angel.
The newest member of our festivals group made her first appearance. So sweet to have a new little one in the group!
Before the advent spiral, we had time for several crafts. This year we made stick trees with inspirational sayings, wool wrapped star ornaments, glittery pinecone ornaments, orange clove pomanders, and we carved our apples for the spiral.
So many busy hands while our hearts fill with love for these dear friends and how much joy they bring to our celebrations each season.
After all the hard work on so many crafts, we took a break for a small snack of holiday treats.
What is it about cherub-cheeked children eating Christmas cookies and giggling around the tree? *love that*
Each family privately went into the room with the spiral and traveled the spiral then placed their light along the path.
When each family had a turn to let their children travel the advent spiral, the entire group squeezed into our little library to admire the light and warmth.
Then we sang a few Christmas carols together. *completely magical*
Silent Night. Holy Night. All is calm; all is bright.
Beautiful Joy! But I want to hear about the burning hair...?
