on the road

Earlier today, I sent Paulie and Elizabeth on a walk with instructions to notice something they had never noticed before. When they returned, I asked them to write a poem sharing what they noticed.

Elizabeth's poem:

Holes
Many holes in the road,
some holes gigantic and deep,
but mine, minuscule.

Paulie's poem:

Paint Splatter
Colorful drips splattered on the ground.
It does not look like a toad.
Blue and red on the side of the road.
Colorful drips that I have found.
It's artwork, my friend,
and we can't let it end.
