Yarn Along

My Yarn Along isn't overly exciting this week.  I'm reading the same book, and thoroughly enjoying it, by the way, and mostly knitting the same old stuff.  I did start Elizabeth's stocking hat this week.  (The kids each get a hand-knit hat in their stockings each year, and I usually start them super early so if they happen to see me working on it, they forget by Christmas.)  I'm making a Habitat hat for her using a Malabrigo Worsted in Bobby Blue that I've had earmarked for her for a while.

I'm almost finished with the scarf I've been working on.  One more night of knitting, and I hope to be finished with this one. (also a Christmas present...shhhh!)

  5. I love the blues! I knit my daughter a hat for St. Nicholas' day each year (well for the 2 she's been here!). Last year I started it on December 2nd. I KNOW I want to do this each year....making it NOW would be the smart thing! :-)

  6. I'm telling you I still love that scarf - the pattern and color! Like your new header too - very fresh and springy. What is the name of the flowering bush/tree?

    1. I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know the name of the flowering tree. The picture was taking inside the Aviary at our zoo. I looked on their plant list but didn't see it so I have no idea what it is!

  8. I love that you are working on Christmas stuff now :-) It is something I have been thinking about starting as well. I loved Radical Homemakers. I am part of a facebook book club that just started discussing it, it is fascinating to see everyone's different points of view

    1. I'm actually one of the moderators of that group so thanks for the plug! I should have mentioned it again in my post, but I don't want to keep pushing it during every Yarn Along. :)
